As announced earlier, wind readings can be displayed from WAP phones.
I am now testing a new page that displays the current 70km Radar image on phones supporting the Wireless Application Protocol (WAP).
If your phone can display color images, then you will probably be able to display the page.
The size of the image is about 5k (it may vary a bit dependent on what the radar image looks like) and the quality of the image should be similar to that of the image above.
I have only tested the page with a few different Nokia phones, so I can not guarantee that it works on all phones. With my Nokia 6610, I sometimes have a problem that the phone will cache the image and not fetch the new image from the server. When this happens, I actually have to "clear the cache" in order to get the latest image downloaded to the phone. I will explore if there is anything that can be done at the server side to eliminate this problem...

If you are using a wireless device with a normal web browser, you can display the same image using the following url:
Note: You can vary the height of the picture (in pixel) by changing the last number of the url. |
